This site used to be about proving things
This site started life as a data project — beliefs put on trial, sources linked, verdicts issued. That work is still here, shelved in the Workshop, and I still stand behind every number in it.
But somewhere between the spreadsheets I noticed the obvious: the parts of my life I care most about were nowhere on my own website. The huskies. The mountain mornings. The decks. The trail past where the pavement gives up.
So I rebuilt it — the way you rebuild anything. Kept what survived the questioning, let go of what didn’t, without regret. The dialectic on the homepage isn’t decoration; it’s literally the method this site went through.
Castaneda’s Don Juan asks one question of any path: does it have a heart? If yes, the path is good. If no, it isn’t. Data analysis had heart — it still does, some days. It just turned out to be one path, not the whole map.
More notes from the trail soon. Some will be about builds. Some about snow. At least one will be about mushrooms.
